Blunt is critical of Spears' media treatment

Singer James Blunt has hit out at the media for reporting on Britney Spears' personal life and habits rather than her music.
In an interview with the New York Daily News, Blunt described Spears as a "phenomenal artist", before criticising the media for reporting on the fact that she was photographed wearing no underwear.
"I think when you put the emphasis on her knickers and not on her talent, you lose perspective," he said.
"It really detracts, as a whole, from things that are really important, like global warming and war."
"Sending paparazzi to investigate things like this is useless. We're better than that; we have the power to teach and educate. Let's spend our time on that."

Arnold Schwarzenegger - Schwarzenegger To Uphold Same-sex Marriage Ruling

Action man-turned-politician ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER's bid to outlaw same-sex marriage in California has been overturned by the state's Supreme Court.

Officials have ruled that gay marriages are legal unions in the state, and those who wed during a spate of same-sex nuptials at San Francisco's City Hall in 2004 will be recognised as married couples.

Those marriages were all declared void by officials who were against same-sex marriages.

Governor Schwarzenegger was among those who opposed the gay weddings.

But on Thursday (15May08), the Supreme Court officials ruled state laws against same-sex marriage are unconstitutional.

In a statement released shortly after the ruling, Schwarzenegger declared he will "respect" and "uphold" the decision.

The former movie star also reiterated previous promises he made to California's gay community, that he will not support "an amendment to the constitution that would overturn this State Supreme Court ruling".

California becomes the second U.S. state to legalise same-sex marriage.

The Drawn Blank Series Launches in London on 14 June 2008

LONDON, May 15 -- One of London's most prestigious
galleries, Halcyon Gallery in Mayfair, will present the first ever gallery
exhibition of Bob Dylan's artwork, beginning 14 June 2008. The Drawn Blank
Series exhibition is the most comprehensive and authoritative collection of
Bob Dylan's art ever assembled. While Dylan has been a committed visual
artist for more than four decades, The Drawn Blank Series will cast a
vibrant new light on the singular creativity of one of the world's most
important and influential cultural figures.

Based on drawings and sketches made by Dylan while on the road during
the period of 1989 through 1992, the paintings in The Drawn Blank Series
visually echo the stylistic hallmarks of Dylan's prose, poetry and music.
Just as Dylan's songs are constantly reinvigorated and rediscovered through
his live performances, so these paintings revisit images and scenes which
were captured in all their immediacy by the artist.

The Drawn Blank Series has resulted in an exhibition which explores the
experience of dislocation and the ceaseless confrontation with new faces
and new places which has characterised Dylan's life on tour. Feelings of
anonymity, transience, rootlessness and sometimes loneliness pervade these
representations of the people, objects and places that Dylan has seen and
drawn.

Accompanying the originals exhibition at Halcyon Gallery, a unique and
impressive collection of limited edition graphics, signed by the artist,
will be available through selected galleries throughout the UK from 14 June
2008.

Paul Green, President of the Halcyon Gallery, commented, "This is an
incredible opportunity for viewing this powerful body of work which gives
an insight into the artists' soul; and which have already been the subject
of widespread critical acclaim. Halcyon Gallery is privileged to be hosting
this unique exhibition."

Bob Dylan is one of the world's most popular and acclaimed songwriters,
